What it is

Forematter is employee-onboarding software, still in development. It turns a company handbook and scattered internal knowledge into a paced first month. It answers new starters' questions from your own documents, shows the source, and sends what it can't answer to a named person.

Who it's for

HR, people and operations leads who answer the same new-starter questions every month, and line managers who want fewer interruptions.

How it works

  1. Your documents in. The handbook and internal knowledge you already have become the only source Forematter answers from.
  2. Sourced answers. New starters ask anything, and they see where each answer came from.
  3. Routed gaps. Questions it can't answer go to the named owner, and a nightly report shows the gaps.
  4. Paced onboarding. You approve a first month before it starts, and the manager can see progress.

What is Forematter?

Forematter is employee-onboarding software from Adapt Progress Evolve. It turns a company handbook into a paced first month for new starters, with answers backed by the source. It's not the publishing term front matter.

Does UK law require an employee handbook?

No. UK law doesn't require a handbook, though some things still have to be given in writing, such as the written statement of employment particulars.

Can I use Forematter yet?

Not yet. Forematter is in development, and the forematter.com home page has a form to be told when it's ready.
