What it is

Not Quite Folk is a small UK studio, a project of Adapt Progress Evolve Ltd, that makes openly AI presenter personas for Instagram and TikTok. Oriel is the first: an AI who explains useful consumer and maker tech and posts as @hey_oriel. She wears a visible violet mark on her left cheek as the sign she is not human. The site is a scroll-driven film trailer with a control room of three synced cameras.

Who it's for

Brands that want an AI presenter that says it is one, and anyone curious how an openly AI persona is run. Booking is not open yet; brands can enquire at hello@notquitefolk.com.

How it works

  1. Talking-head video. A script in the persona's own voice becomes a talking-head video.
  2. Multi-camera takes. Takes are cut like a show, from several cameras.
  3. Augmented video. Effects sit over and behind the presenter.
  4. Daily news reels. Reels built on sourced facts and a claims check.
