Football Scout Engine
Computer-vision scouting for football. Paused, and I did that on purpose.
Computer-vision scouting for football. Paused on purpose, shown anyway.
Status: Paused · product · built and run by Jack Stovell at Adapt Progress Evolve
What it is
Football Scout Engine was a computer-vision project to pull player and match insights out of football video. I took it through research and early planning, and then I paused it. Deliberately, not by accident.
Who it's for
Scouts and analysts who want more from match footage than a highlight reel can give them.
How it works
- Video in. Match footage, which is the raw material for everything else.
- Computer vision. Turning match video into player and match data.
- Scouting insight. Player and match insights, there to help with scouting decisions.

FAQ
Why was Football Scout Engine paused?
I paused Football Scout Engine because research-dataset licensing turned out to be very restrictive for anything commercial. The time was better spent on products already live and growing, so I stopped it deliberately.
Will Football Scout Engine come back?
Football Scout Engine might come back, possibly. If the landscape shifts, it could, but I'm not promising anything.
Why show a paused project at all?
I show Football Scout Engine, even paused, because a studio that claims every project succeeds is hiding something. Shelving one on purpose is part of how Adapt Progress Evolve works.
